Schneider Go Green 2022 (North America)

You can sign up at https://gogreen.se.com/ and make sure to confirm your email address. Don’t forget to click ‘Participate’ in order to receive announcements and notifications about the Challenge.

When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!

The Agorize platform is open for support and to answer any kind of questions related to the competition.

You will receive an email confirmation upon successful registration for the Schneider Go Green 2022 Challenge.

To update your details, log in at https://gogreen.se.com/ and go to your participant profile to edit or change your details.

Don’t worry! You can sign up to the challenge as an individual by creating an account - please make sure you click "Participate".

Then, you can use the ‘Teams’ tab to find potential teammates, look through their profile, see who they are looking for, and message them directly by clicking the ‘Chat’ button. Watch this video to find out more.

Please note: when forming a team, you must be studying in the same country as your teammate(s) and your team must be gender diverse learn more [here].

The team should have 2-4 team members.

Schneider Go Green 2022 is open to 2-4 member teams worldwide. To take part, you must:

• Be a Bachelor’s student or working on a Master’s degree
  
• Studying Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Math, Marketing and Innovation
• Be located in the same region (for the duration of the competition) as your fellow team member. Being in the same country is highly preferred
• In line with our Diversity & Inclusion philosophy, your team must be gender diverse
• Be proficient in English, as the submission and final pitch must be presented in English

You can team up with 1-3 other team member(s) studying any major or at any university in the same country as you.

We even encourage you to create an interdisciplinary team with complimentary skills sets.

All members of a team must be studying in the same country for the duration of the competition.

Research shows gender diversity enables greater innovation and more market success. This criteria is in line with Schneider Electric’s Diversity and Inclusion policy.

Since you would need to develop a solution for the energy management and automation industry, a scientific or technical background would give your team a head start, but it’s not required. If you do not have a STEM background, you can certainly team up with someone with a technical background and collaborate together. If you sign up as a sole participant, you can message other potential team members through our online platform (click the ‘Teams’ tab and click ‘Chat’ to kickstart your conversation).

Absolutely not. Schneider Electric and AVEVA are seeking innovative ideas to revolutionize the energy management and automation industries. You do not need to come from an engineering background in order to bring some great ideas. Plus, once your idea is being selected, you will be able to meet mentors from Schneider Electric and AVEVA to assist you with the technical and business angles, respectively.

For the Application Phase, your team must submit your PowerPoint Presentation of 5-10 slides or video MP4 including:

• What is your team’s problem statement?
• What is your solution?
• Why is your solution different?
• How will your solution work?
• Who is benefitting from your solution?
• Who is on your team?

There is no template but a guideline about the list of items that should be included in your presentation available in the "How It Works?" tab. However, feel free to add anything as long as your submission adheres to the page limit. Your submission should not be longer than 10 slides or 2-minutes if you choose a video submission.

You are free to use any kind of technology, tools or datasets that can be found in the public domain as long as you are authorized and have valid licenses to use them. Students will also be able to access resources on the Schneider Electric website and the Masterclasses for Students (coming soon).

Initial Applications for Phase I shall be treated by Schneider Electric as confidential and will not be publicly disclosed for the duration of Phase I and Phase II. Schneider reserves the right to publicly disclose at Phase III and beyond. See the full explanation of Intellectual Property in the Rules of the competition.

The Judging Panel will evaluate your team’s idea and select the top teams to progress to the Mentoring Phase based on three key criteria: innovativeness, feasibility, and sustainable impact, along with overall presentation quality and adherence to the competition rules and intentions

Yes – a panel of AVEVA and Schneider Electric judges manage the [De]coding the future category.

The announcement will be made per region via email and the competition platform. You can also follow Schneider Go Green on social media to stay updated.

If your team reaches the Mentoring Phase, you will have the opportunity to be mentored by Schneider Electric and AVEVA employees. You will be able to contact your mentor through the Agorize online platform and co-own an online workspace.

For the Mentoring Phase, each team should submit a PowerPoint of up to 15 content slides expanding on previous submission with any additional appendices to be submitted by your region's timeline.

Title and transition slides do not count toward the 15 slide limit.

The Judging Panel will evaluate your team’s idea and select the top teams to progress to the Global Finals based on three key criteria: innovativeness, feasibility, and sustainable impact, along with overall presentation quality and adherence to the competition rules and intentions.

The final teams who will progress to the Global Finals will be announced by May 2, 2022.

Global winners will be awarded a prize to the value of €10,000 to be split equally among winning team members. The winning team will also be gifted a 1 year subscription to the Coorpacademy platform.

Regional Finalists will receive mentorship from Schneider Electric experts to polish their proposals and make it to the Grand Finale! All regional finalists will also gain special access to e-learning resources by Coorpacademy to better prepare teams for the regional finals.

All participants will be considered for job interviews and receive content about Schneider Electric’s benefits, job opportunities and early career events.

It is helpful if teams submit a working prototype or video walkthrough of their idea (if applicable/available) at the global finals, but it is not an obligatory requirement.

Please submit a pitch deck of up to 15 slides by global communications via email.

Each team will have the chance to pitch their business idea in a 15-minutes presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A with the jury made up of Schneider Electric’s senior management. Once the jury panel has made a decision, there will be a special winner announcement live and on social media.

The Judging Panel will evaluate your team’s idea during the Global Finals based on three key criteria: innovativeness, feasibility, and sustainable impact, along with overall presentation quality and adherence to the competition rules and intentions.

Schneider Electric’s and AVEVA’s senior management from various divisions and offices will be the judges for the Global Finals. More information will be released closer to the time.

Congratulations to Helena Arias Casals and Dorothy Ann van der Ent Facerias from the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya in Spain for winning the 2021 Schneider Go Green in collaboration with AVEVA global student competition for their bold idea of Light Pills an artificial light source, and UV water purifier shaped like a bottle cap to help communities without access to energy and safe water.

Colombia’s Team Groon from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Medellín won with a bold idea giving Access to Energy to develop a sustainable fishing industry in Bojayá. Angie Redondo and Jorge Polo presented their Sustainable Fishing project benefitting the Bojayá community, living on the Atrato River near Colombia’s Pacific coast. Bojayá’s economy relies on fishing and agriculture and today, 22 percent of local fish production is wasted due to insufficient electrical refrigeration. Team Groon’s project offers an innovative Access to Energy solution and sustainable business model for the fisherman in Bojayá, based on a reliable, solar and biomass-powered cold chain solution to stock and help distribute local produce.

As Team Latent Innovations from Algeria, they created an organic photovoltaic greenhouse system to increase crop production and fight for hunger.
